The Inside Guide to IPB

The IPB 2026 class in Bad Mergentheim was a great team; international students from Singapore, the U.S., and India spent a semester studying alongside DHBW students on our campus in the castle.

“I was placed to study at DHBW Mosbach, Campus Bad Mergentheim. While it was unfamiliar and scary at first because I have never heard of the town, I have to say I couldn’t have asked for better. Through its International Business program, I was able to meet people who made me a better person and who I now hold very dear to my heart. In this specific program, I was also one of the first students from my home university to attend this campus, making the experience even more scary if I’m being honest. Going to another country for the first time all by myself was humbling and unsettling, but finding out no one else from my school was going to attend made it feel 10x more real. I am grateful to say that after the first week there, these feelings completely vanished, I felt more welcome by others than I could’ve ever imagined. I’m grateful that I now can share my experience with future students at my home university and help to encourage them to take advantage of both the university and the opportunities that are right at their feet.”

"The host University would definitely be recommended to other students. DHBW Mosbach, Campus Bad Mergentheim offers a calm and peaceful learning environment that can be very suitable for exchange students adjusting to a new country. At the same time, students still gain strong international exposure through classmates and teachers from different backgrounds, which makes the academic and social experience more meaningful.
One of the most memorable experiences was studying together with international students and learning from international teachers. This created a classroom atmosphere where many perspectives, cultural backgrounds, and ways of thinking came together. It made the exchange more than just an academic semester, because every discussion also became a learning experience about communication, culture, and collaboration."

"Some of the most formative parts of the semester happened outside any classroom. A university-organised trip to Berlin took us into the Bundestag and the Vice Chancellor's Office, and through "Dark Worlds," an underground wartime shelter and museum that made the realities of war feel immediate rather than historical. We ended that trip watching the crowd energy at an ice hockey match at the Uber Arena, near the Berlin Wall which is an
odd, striking juxtaposition of past and present that stayed with me.

The Arshi who landed in Frankfurt that first night was more fearful than she realised,someone who didn't yet believe the world was actually available to her, that the things around her could be turned into opportunities rather than just endured. I don't think that fear is fully gone, but I know now that it doesn't have to stop me. I also received the
Baden-Württemberg-STIPENDIUM scholarship confirmation partway through the semester itself, which only deepened how seriously I took the rest of my time there.
This semester didn't just teach me macroeconomics or intercultural management. It taught me that I can manage a budget, survive a genuinely bad night alone in a foreign country, hold a friendship across a language gap, and still choose to be curious. That is not a small thing to bring home."

The International Program in Business (IPB) at the DHBW Mosbach was an incredible experience that I will always remember. We had the chance to study together, exchange ideas, and build friendships across cultures. It was amazing to see how quickly we all connected and created such a great atmosphere. Just within the last 3 months - that flew by so quickly, because time flies when you are having fun!

The academic part of the program was both interesting and engaging. We had a variety of business-related lectures that were interactive and easy to follow. The professors made sure to include real-world examples, which made the topics more relatable. I especially enjoyed the discussions and presentations in class, where we could share different perspectives and learn from each other.

Beyond studying, the program was filled with amazing activities.

The wine tour through the vineyards was a wonderful experience, and the go-kart race was truly exciting. Our three-day excursion to Cologne was definitely a highlight - I loved exploring the city and making great memories with the group. The social events, like the running dinner and WG parties really made the experience special.

Personally, I really appreciated how much fun we had as a group and how easy it was to connect with everyone. The mix of academic learning and social activities made the program truly special. I am grateful for all the great moments we shared. The IPB program was not just about studying—it was about experiencing something unique together, and I wouldn’t have wanted to miss it!
